Tumor Immunity

Tumor Stem Cells (TSCs) are rare immortal tumor cells exhibiting self-renewal properties as the normal stem cells and therefore having the ability to infinitely give rise to the bulk of a tumor as the "seed" of the cancer. TSCs are found in various types of human tumors. They are responsible for tumor metastasis and are equipped with various resistance mechanisms against most conventional tumor treatments. We therefore are particularly interested in

  • the molecular mechanisms how tumor stem cells escape immune surveillance (including both innate and adaptive immune recognition);

  • the exploration of new therapeutics targets that could enhance the antitumor immunity;

  • the development of therapies that specifically eliminate tumor stem cells;

  • the impact of endocrines on tumor immune regulation; and

  • the development of precision therapy to each personnel
